Drum concrete mixing station is a kind of equipment commonly used in concrete production
- **Working principle**
- **Self-fall mixing principle**: When the mixing drum of the drum concrete mixing station rotates, the internal blades lift the cement, sand, gravel, water and other mixtures to a certain height, and then the materials fall freely by their own weight, and so on, so that the materials are reciprocated in the axial direction while being lifted and falling, so as to achieve uniform mixing, so that the components are evenly distributed in the macro and micro.
- **Gravity diffusion principle**: Gravity is used to make the material flow from one end to the other. By adjusting the inclination angle and speed of the drum, the mixing time and uniformity of the material are controlled. The mixing arm generates shear force with the material during the rotation process, which further promotes the uniform mixing of the material.
- **Classification by mobility**: It can be divided into fixed type and mobile type. The fixed drum concrete mixing station is installed on a pre-prepared foundation. The whole machine cannot be moved. It has the characteristics of high production efficiency and stable mixing quality. It is mostly used in large-scale construction projects or fixed concrete production sites; the mobile drum concrete mixing station concentrates the batching system, weighing system, mixing host, material storage, unloading and full-automatic control system of the mixing station on a trailer unit, and realizes the movement of the mixing station through a trailer. ### Structural composition
- **Mixing system**: The mixing drum is the working part of the mixer, usually a double-conical drum, with high and low blades welded inside the drum, each at a specific angle to the mixing axis. During mixing, as the mixing drum rotates, the blades stir the material axially while being lifted and falling.
- **Feeding system**: It consists of a winch mechanism, a feeding rack, a hopper, a feeding funnel, etc. The brake motor can ensure that the hopper can stop reliably at any position when running at full load.
- **Water supply system**: It consists of an electric motor, a water pump, a regulating valve, a water suction valve and a pipeline. Start the water pump to inject water into the mixing drum. The amount of water required for mixing each tank of concrete is controlled by the time relay in the electronic control system to control the operation time of the water pump.
- **Transmission system**: It adopts advanced transmission methods, such as the motor drives the gear ring through the reduction box, or the motor transmits power to the transmission shaft through the reducer. The rubber wheel on the transmission shaft rubs against the barrel wall to rotate the barrel body, ensuring uniform mixing and adapting to the mixing requirements of different materials.
- **Control system**: It can accurately control the mixing speed and time to ensure the consistency of each mixing result. It can also adjust the mixing parameters according to the characteristics of different materials to achieve the best mixing uniformity.

 

### Classification
- **According to the operation mode**: It can be divided into cyclic operation and continuous operation. The three processes of feeding, mixing and unloading in the cyclic operation are carried out at a certain time interval, and the mixing quality is good; the three processes of the continuous operation are carried out continuously in a longer cylinder, with high productivity but poor mixing quality.
- **According to the installation method**: There are two types: fixed and mobile. The fixed mixer is installed on a pre-prepared foundation. The whole machine cannot be moved. It has a large volume and high production efficiency. It is mostly used in mixing buildings or mixing stations; the mobile mixer itself has driving wheels and good maneuverability.
- **According to the discharge method**: It is divided into two types: tipping type and non-tipping type. The tipping type relies on the tipping of the mixing drum to unload, while the non-tipping type relies on the reverse unloading of the mixing drum.
- **According to the mixing capacity**: There are large (discharging capacity 1000-3000L), medium (discharging capacity 300-500L) and small (discharging capacity 50-250L).

- **Disadvantages**: Compared with forced mixers, the mixing effect may be slightly worse for materials that are difficult to mix, such as dry hard concrete; the mixing speed is relatively slow, and the production efficiency is not as good as that of forced mixers in some cases; the floor space is relatively large, especially for large drum mixers.
